It is not your fault!
Your subconscious is responsible for many of your fears!
But the good news is that you can work on your fears and remove them from your subconscious by a few simple exercises!
Let’s see these 5 Main Fears and get rid of them!
Fear of drowning
A one month baby can swim and hold his/her breath in the water without any effort!
So, why we need to learn to swim when we are three years or older?
Because our subconscious tells us that water is dangerous, we need to learn again what means water and swimming!
Between 1 to 7 years old, our subconscious absorbs all the information, habits, and warnings we receive from our Parents, Teachers, and Friends.
Practically, if your parents were afraid of water, every time you were close to the water, they would act as if you are in a dangerous situation, maybe screaming … the baby is close to the water”!!!!
Consequently, the input you received was “ Water is Dangerous”!
Maybe, you have been attending a swimming course, and you were doing well, but been underwater could trigger that fear back again!
How we overcome this problem?
We will apply repeating and practical knowledge that will show us the way to remove this fear.
Fear of running of air
Somehow part to the fear of drowning, this one is more related to the air supply stopping suddenly, either because of equipment failure, running out of the air, or losing the regulator.
Knowledge and practice will teach you that you have plenty of “alternative” and also that you can use your lungs as support. We will see this matter in “How to Clear Scuba Regulator” Chapter
Fear of Poor Visibility
Eyes are our leading sense and having limited visibility or being in a closed area like a cave or a wreck could give you the same idea of being in a box or underground. Let’ see how to reduce the problem by applying some elementary rules.
Fear of sharks or water monsters
Unfortunately, you grew in the age of Jaws and other Scary Movies.
Once more, your subconscious has bombarded with tons of information about the Dangerous Creature of the Ocean!
In the Chapter “Be part of the Environment.” we will see how is the real situation, with the poor Sharks been the Victims and not the Monsters!
Fear of failure
I might bore you, but again you subconscious will be prominent in this fear.
It is not for me..
I am not fit enough …
I am scared …
And so on.
